Hi, I'm Cam! I'm an Ottawa based content creator who loves all things travel, lifestyle, and wellness. When I'm not creating content, you can find me at my nearest coffee shop enjoying a latte, being a foodie and trying out new restaurants, or planning my next adventure. I vow to always be RRR: relatable, reliable, and real!

Why did you become a creator?

I have always had a passion for social media. I love the community aspect of it and how easy it is to make connections with like-minded people, and I love being able to inspire others through my work. I also love the storytelling aspect of being a creator; social media can often feel heavily curated, and so I love to show up on camera with vulnerability, authenticity and honesty, to make my content feel relatable.

‍What is your favourite part about being a creator?

There is nothing I love more than seeing my visions come to life. To be able to visualize an idea in my head, to then see it transform in the shape of short captivating videos or photos is so rewarding!

What does a typical content day look like for you?

A typical content day starts with envisioning how I want my content to look like - where do I want to shoot? What kind of lighting do I need? What mood/ambiance do I want my content to emit? Once I have that figured out, I'll jot down general talking points (if a video calls for it), set up my tripod, and then press that record button. After shooting is done, I love to make a cup of tea and cozy up on the couch to edit.

‍Do you have any advice/pointers for new creators?

It sounds so cheesy, but just start. I sat on the idea of becoming a content creator for years, and would always hold myself back out of fear that people would make fun of me (which they did) or that I wouldn't be successful (which is far from the truth). Block out the outside noise and follow what that little voice inside your head is telling you, because it's usually always right. What I had waiting for me was far better than I anticipated, and I would've never known had I not taken the leap and posted that first video. Don't focus on how you'll get there or what the end result might be, but rather find your passion and your "why" and let that guide you.
