Hi! I’m Mirna, and I am currently a Toronto-based content creator and a student pursuing a master of health science in nutrition communication. My creativity expands into various mediums– I love editing videos, designing graphics, and capturing moments through photography. Beyond the camera angles and storyboards, I'm also deeply passionate about beauty—skincare, haircare, you name it! I'm the friend you turn to for those beauty tips and tricks that make you feel your absolute best.

Why did you become a creator?

From a young age, I loved filming and editing videos. Whether I’m capturing the hustle of being a student in a big city like Toronto or the delicious details of a nutritious recipe, I love telling a story through my camera. The idea of turning something I loved into a job felt like a natural fit, and that's why I became a content creator.

‍What is your favourite part about being a creator?

I love expressing myself creatively, which I don’t have the opportunity to do in other areas of my life. The dynamic nature of content creation keeps me engaged and excited to learn more, keep up with trends and experiment with new techniques. I also love that I get the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favourite brands– it’s always a pinch-me moment :)

What does a typical content day look like for you?

A content day typically begins with me looking at my content calendar to see what deliverables I need to create concepts for. I then spend some time scrolling through social media and saving any trending content I can put my unique twist on. Creating concepts for content generally happens on a separate day from filming. On filming days, I look at the deliverables I want to shoot and see how much content I can batch-create at once. I write out a plan listing the deliverables, brand requests and a short storyboard to guide my shooting process. I shoot as early in the day as possible to maximize natural lighting and then spend my evening editing. This workflow allows me to separate the creative planning from the filming and editing stages, maximizing efficiency and ensuring each step gets the attention it deserves.

‍Do you have any advice/pointers for new creators?

There is space for everyone! Although some may consider this field to be “saturated,” nobody is YOU, and you bring unique skills and relatability to the table. Don’t focus on being perfect on the first go; you’ll learn and optimize your creative process with more practice.
