Introduce yourself!
I am a dance teacher turned content creator! I love using the skills I’ve developed as a choreographer to create captivating stop motion videos focused around beauty products. Creating videos has become another outlet for me to express my artistry while working with amazing brands.
Why did you become a creator?
What started as a small hobby, creating videos on the floor of my living room in the tiny patch of sun I get in my apartment; turned into a full scale job when my videos on Instagram started going viral. I never realized that this could even be a way to make income until brands started reaching out to me!
What is your favourite part about being a creator?
I am in love with the challenge. Constantly challenging myself to think outside the box when it comes to capturing the beauty of a product. Taking trends and making them my own. Pushing myself to make better content everytime I sit down to film. The amazing people behind the brands are also a huge bonus!
What does a typical content day look like for you?
As a very Type A personality, my entire content schedule is meticulously planned. To capture the best lighting, I always film between 730-10am and then continue editing till about noon. From then till about 2 it’s admin time! This part used to take me significantly longer until I started using Brkaway!
Do you have any advice/pointers for new creators?
Just start! You don’t need the fancy tools, the expensive tripod, the latest iPhone. I started by balancing my phone on a pile of books, using a piece of blank paper as a backdrop and relying on my creativity to make the video come to life. The extra tools are “nice” but not necessary AT ALL.
Anything else you'd like to share about your creator journey to date?
As creators sometimes we get lost in the metrics. Having a job based in social media can be extremely hard on your mental health so I always make sure to take breaks when I need. If it’s not fun anymore, it’s not worth it 🤍
